Love to Read is also about engaging parents and building a positive home-school partnership as pupils progress through the Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1.
That’s why we’ve created a booklet for mums and dads – a handy guide that explains how children learn to read and gives advice, suggestions and activities to play at home.
Use it as:
- Part of your induction process for new children
- Part of a ‘starting school’ pack
- A handout if you are giving a talk to parents about reading
There is also a section on this website for parents to find out more about helping their child develop a love for reading.
